FACILITATOR BIO

Jasmine Johnson is the Co-Founder of Black Zen and has been an active meditator for nearly 15 years. She received training from UCLA’s Meditation and Research Center and has incorporated her training and personal meditation studies into Black Zen‘s editorials, former weekly wellness podcasts and event programming.

BLACK ZEN was specifically created to remove the social and financial barriers that restrict black and brown communities from discovering the benefits of meditation, and to allow a space for every community to feel included in wellness-based practices.

To date she has worked with LA County EMT students, trained 600+ first year teachers in New York City schools, and has partnered with numerous community centers, nonprofits, universities, media companies and other organizations to conduct guided meditation sessions that help participants manage stress and anxiety, uncover/interrogate our internal personal narratives, and improve focus and concentration.
